BIRTHDAY POEM
 

I've got through another one
12 months down the line
Another year has gone

There was no party
No I didn't get wrecked
I just stayed indirect

I picked some chords
All minor of course
Neighbors became distraught

Family toed the line
Minimised trivialisations
To a dull applausee

Thanks for the cards
The cash and the gifts
Your thoughts my spirit did lift

The experience was painless
I'm thankful for that
Only another 364 days till it's back
