lightening & thunder
I used to look out my window
In the middle of the night
The world so quiet
Nobody in sight
The wind blowing through the tree
At the back of our house
Wild and proud and free
And I was never in any doubt
That the world was full of
lightening & thunder
To a boy whose mind constantly wondered
Through the streets and the fields
Just trying to find his feet
Today another hand was played
From the shadows of the deadliest game
Under the guise of another name
Fear and anger the only aim
And across the gulf of reason
From the mind of a peacekeeping side
There’s similar kind of killing season
Innocents lost to genocide
The world is full of lightening & thunder
To a mind that constantly wonders
Through the streets and the fields
I can see all your unhand deals
So what’s to be done that’s what
we’ll cry
And the cards will be placed before our eyes
And we’ll raise a glass to what they say
As these dupes take our freedom away
The world is full of lightening &
thunder
To a mind that constantly wonders
Through the streets and the fields
I can see all your unhand deals
The world is full of lightening &
thunder
To a mind that constantly wonders
And now as I watch the evening news
The lies they tell can’t hide the truth
